The good news is that you can successfully heat your hair without damaging it, but you just need to use certain precautions. It’s wise to research about the best way to do it beforehand, so you can avoid irreparable damage to your curls.
In this post, you’ll find out the best ways to use heated styling methods without damage.
Stretch Your Hair Before Everything Else
The best way to avoid heat damage is to not use heat at all. High heat can cause the water inside of your hair’s cortex to overheat and boil. Try using a heat-free method of straightening your hair. No-heat methods won’t get kinky hair super straight, but you’ll be able to loosen the curl pattern for styling and manageability.
However, if you must use heat, try stretching your hair first. Stretching will get it semi-straight, and that means you won’t have to heat the hair as much. Stretching methods include twisting, braiding, bantu knots, and banding.
Wash and detangle your hair before you heat-style, but make sure your hair is completely dry and stretched before beginning your heat process.

Soft, bonnet-style hood dryers are less expensive than the hard, professional-quality dryers you see at the salons. You’d still need to hook it up to a blow dryer, but you probably already own one.
However, if you’re set on using a blow dryer without the soft hood, try putting a ceramic diffuser onto the end of your blow dryer to spread out the heat more evenly.
A diffuser will be gentler on your curls and will reduce frizz. Using an anti-frizz serum will help to keep frizz at bay too.
Be sure to use your blow dryer on the lowest heat setting with whichever method you choose.

Well, whether you’re out enjoying some time laying on the beach, or having summer adventures with your friends, your hair may be exposed to a lot of harsh conditions. This is why we have compiled some summer do’s and dont’s that will help you keep your hair safe, and ready to take on any situation.
During summer your hair will be exposed to many unpleasant conditions that will damage your hair. Luckily, we know some top tips that will save you from unnecessary stress.
Protect your hair from UV damage: If you are planning on spending long periods of time out in the sun be sure to protect your hair from the sun’s harmful UV rays. You can do this by wearing a sun hat to shield your hair from the sun, plus you will look absolutely gorgeous rocking it! Another great way to protect your hair during sun exposure is to use sunscreen. That’s right! Sunscreen is not only for your skin. Snappee On The Go April 28 2016
A Day With Snappee
Imagine those days where you get everything right, including your hair. Aren’t they the best? Maybe it's a bit of faith, or a bit of luck. Well, we think Snappee has something to do with that too!
We recently spent the day with cheer captain Regene to see how Snappee helps her transition throughout her day. As a busy full-time college student, undecided major, with many duties such as studying for exams, planning cheer activities, and managing a part-time job. Regene finds it easiest to style her curly 3B hair with Snappees, Mixed Chicks hair creme and oil to keep her beautiful curls bouncy and in tact.
At the start of her day she goes through her usual morning routine of spraying water to revive her curls and applying a bit of product, then putting her hair back with the Snappee headband style to keep her curls in place for class. Regene finds it best to have her hair down, but out of her face during the day.
By mid-day, she may be done with class and her hair is still perfectly in place but her day is not over yet! Regene then shifted to her leading role as cheer squad captain of 15. That is no easy task!
During our day with Regene she decided to work a half up half down ponytail hairstyle for practice. She loves to look cute while still being able to perform all of her stunts without fussing with her hair.
We followed up with her after practice during her cool down stretch to see how Snappee and her 'do had kept up after three hours of active movement. We found that even after all that cheering and stunting Regene’s hair stayed perfectly in place. She loved how her hair was one less thing she had to worry about and knew Snappee had her covered.
Even though our day with Regene came to an end, we were happy to see that Snappee helped another woman on the go, transition throughout her busy day!
